How To Get Clients From Instagram

I often hear from other advisors that it’s hard to understand the ROI and they don’t think they can actually get clients from having a strategy on Instagram.  But I disagree. Even if clients are not telling you they specifically hired you because of what you posted on Instagram, there are many ways it can play a part in client acquisition.

Being Top of Mind

Where else do you have the ability to show up on a consistent basis (hopefully every day), and remind people that you exist and how you can help them and people like them?

Hint: Nowhere

You are doing this in subtle ways each and every time you post. Remember, you are not directly “selling”, but you are building the foundation and creating a relationship so that when it does come time to plan their vacation or someone in their circle of influence is planning a trip, it is an instant recollection of who they should reach out to.

The Ability to Tell YOUR Story

YOU are the secret sauce here. You have the incredible advantage of showcasing your unique viewpoint and purpose that nobody else can do. The more you infuse yourself into your brand, the easier it will be to attract the right type of travelers that will most certainly be drawn to you specifically.

This might ruffle some feathers, but I am going to say it anyway.

If all you ever share is the fact that you can get your clients free breakfast and a possible room upgrade, you really haven’t done the best possible job of communicating why someone needs to work with you.

Sure, a free upgrade is valuable to many people. But it does nothing to differentiate you from everyone else who also is with a consortia that provides those exact same amenities.  There is not much brand loyalty when you focus only on the product, and that is why I believe so strongly that the uniqueness only you can bring is so valuable.

Creating Brand Evangelists

There is so much power in other people being able to speak on your behalf about why someone might benefit from your services. When you use social media consistently with a strategy, not only are you telling versions of your story and how you help people over and over to people who follow you, you also are giving them the understanding and words to be evangelists on your behalf.

Many of my referrals come from what I refer to as my “brand evangelists”. They may or may not have traveled with me before, but they certainly know who I am, what I do, and how I can help. So maybe they aren’t in a life stage where they can use my services, but their parents can. Or perhaps they are single and not looking to plan their honeymoon, but their best friend just got engaged so they excitedly share that they know the perfect person to plan their dream honeymoon.

If I wasn't consistent in showing up, knowing how to get my message across, and clear about the type of people I work with, then they might not have referred me, or referred me for the type of travel I absolutely do not do.

This is a platform that allows us travel professionals to shine. I want you to shine, and I want you finding clients who are looking for the exact thing that you offer. I’m pretty positive the Instagram Roadmap can help!
